“You take the high road and I'll take the low…” The 2008 Miramichi Scottish Celebration is a chance for everyone to gather with the
Clans to celebrate Scottish culture on the Miramichi with food, song and dance.

Celebration, Rain or Shine! We know that fun with the family is extremely important to everyone and we want to share that fun and
our Scottish heritage with you.
CANDLELIGHT TARTAN BALL On August 15, 2008 the 2008 Candlelight Tartan Ball will be held at the
Rodd Miramichi River Hotel, 1809 Water Street, Miramichi East, N.B.

- 9p.m. Dinner, Piping in the Haggis & Serving the Mull
9p.m.
- 12p.m. Entertainment and Dance
Entertainment: The Grand Master Fiddling Champion, Ivan Hicks, accompanied by his wife Vivian on
piano, will entertain you with music any Scot would appreciate. A must see performance by one of
Canada's premier performers.

250 tickets available for the Candlelight Tartan Ball. The tickets are $40.00
each and should be purchased before August 10th, 2008. Tickets are available at the following locations after June

EVENING CAILIDH On August 16, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. an Outdoor Cailidh will be held
at the waterfront next to the Rodd River Inn. There will be fiddlers, singers and a special performance by the Canadian
Association of the 8th Hussar Pipes & Drums Band.
CHURCH SERVICE & KIRKIN OF THE TARTANS
On August 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. there will be
a Church Service and Kirkin Of The Tartans at the Calvin Presbyterian Church, 27 King Street, Miramichi East,
N.B. This will be followed by a Highland Memorial Fountain Service at the Highland Memorial Fountain in Elm
Park, to honor those hardy Scottish Pioneers who settled in the Miramichi area. A reception and lunch will follow at
the church.
